Disabled care under the Prisoner Assistance Act is for persons of German nationality who were taken into custody outside of the Federal Republic of Germany for political reasons in the Soviet occupation zone (SBZ) or in the Soviet sector of Berlin or in the states of the Eastern bloc after the Second World War.

If you have suffered damage to your health while in custody, you will receive care in analogous application of the provisions of the Federal Health Care Act.

You will also receive benefits as a survivor if the detention led to the death of the detainee.
