Prerequisites
- You paid the funeral costs
- Death is always considered to be the result of an injury if an injured person dies from an illness that is legally recognised as the result of an injury and for which he or she was entitled to a pension at the time of death.
Documents required
- Invoices for the burial and/or transfer
- death certificate
Please note
Benefits to be granted on the basis of other statutory provisions (e.g. death benefit from health insurance or civil servant benefits) are offset against the funeral benefit.
If an injured person dies as a result of damage outside his permanent place of residence, the necessary costs for the transfer of the corpse will be reimbursed. This does not apply if the death occurred during a stay abroad. In this case, however, you can apply for a subsidy.
