Hamburg Welcome Tour

In the middle of Hamburg – a roof for all cultures: MARKK - Museum am Rotherbaum. Cultures and arts of the world!

Founded in 1879, the “MARKK” is now one of the largest ethnological museums in Europe.
In February, the Hamburg Welcome Center invites you to an exciting tour in the English language to get to know the museum closer. The museum's collections include around 700,000 objects and document the art and cultural history of the peoples. Our guided tour is dedicated to the special exhibition “AMANI. On the trail of a colonial research station”. From 1902, international scientists worked for this institute in the highlands of Tanzania to study tropical diseases, flora and fauna of the rainforest.

Following the tour, there will be the opportunity to discover the museum on your own or visit the museum café “Okzident” (food and drinks as self-pay) - both open until 6 p.m.

We look forward to sharing another part of Hamburg with you!
