Traditional PORT ANNIVERSARY Kick-Off
The International Ecumenical Opening Service marks the traditional start of the Hamburg PORT ANNIVERSARY. It is celebrated every year in the St. Michaelis church. It is held in the form of a dialogue sermon in the presence of numerous international clergy. The entire service is rounded off with a musical programme.
Shortly after the service, the official opening of the Hamburg PORT ANNIVERSARY takes place in the harbour area. This is followed by the traditional arrival parade.
