St. Georg’s LGBTQ+ Christmas Market

The friendly neighbourhood of St. Georg is known for its open, vibrant and welcoming atmosphere — and its residents reflect that spirit year-round. It’s no surprise, then, that the local Christmas market, WinterPride, has become one of Hamburg’s most beloved LGBTQ+ events of the season. Taking place at the entrance to Lange Reihe, the market may be modest in size, but it more than compensates with warmth, colour and community spirit.

A giant, glittering reindeer watches over the woodchip-covered square, while stalls serve festive favourites such as mulled wine, hot chocolate and hearty winter snacks. What truly sets WinterPride apart, however, is its atmosphere: inclusive, joyful and unmistakably St. Georg. Visitors come not only to sip drinks and browse, but to meet friends, celebrate diversity and enjoy a programme full of lively entertainment.

Music & Entertainment

WinterPride is known for its fun and welcoming stage programme, with extravagant performers and drag hosts spreading Christmas cheer throughout the season. On Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 p.m., popular DJs from Hamburg’s queer nightlife take over the decks — ranging from pop and electro to Schlager, ensuring a soundtrack for every taste.

This year’s line-up includes DJ Tom Hendrix, Shuma, DJ Denise Lau, DJ Pauli, Douze Points, Aroundelias, DJ Sunshine and Leona London, bringing plenty of energy to long winter nights.

Community at the Tap

A beloved WinterPride tradition is the rotating cast of community groups and LGBTQ+ organisations who take turns working the bar — serving drinks, chatting with visitors, and showcasing their initiatives. These groups bring enthusiasm, openness and lots of good vibes, and every participating organisation receives a share of the day’s revenue.
