Walk from Hamburg Central train station towards City Hall and you'll soon bump into the merry stalls on shopping street Spitalerstraße and nearby Gerhard-Hauptmann-Platz square. Both markets provide Christmas-shoppers with replenishments in the form of mulled wine, hot chocolate and baked goods.

What's more, you'll find a large number of stalls selling handicrafts, design and art, making these centrally located markets a perfect place for finding unique Christmas gifts. For a more spiritual experience, head to the Christmas market at the nearby St. Petri church.
