& Juliet: A Pop Musical Phenomenon Comes to Hamburg

The tragic conclusion of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is only the starting point of this vibrant musical. What if Juliet, instead of choosing death alongside Romeo, chose life? Beginning in autumn 2024 in Hamburg, Juliet embarks on a new journey — one defined entirely on her own terms.

After Romeo’s death, Juliet flees to Paris, leaving behind the heartbreak of Verona. In a new city, she encounters fresh adventures, faces unlikely challenges, and ultimately discovers the self-confidence to seize control of her destiny.

Pop Anthems in English, Dialogue in German

This uplifting musical comedy celebrates Juliet’s rebirth through 24 global hits, all produced by Swedish music producer and songwriter Max Martin and his collaborators. From Katy Perry’s Roar and Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling to P!nk’s Perfect, audiences can expect a soundtrack filled with beloved pop anthems.

Premiering in London’s West End in 2019, & Julia is set to make its German debut at Hamburg’s Stage Operettenhaus in autumn 2024. The talented Chiara Fuhrmann stars as Juliet. While the dialogue has been translated into German, the iconic songs will be performed in their original English.

& Juliet – A Musical Triumph

& Juliet has already earned critical acclaim, with three Olivier Awards and six WhatsOnStage Awards to its name. The Broadway production, held at New York's Stephen Sondheim Theatre, has been playing to packed houses since November 2022 and received nine Tony Award® nominations.
