The Hit from the West End Comes to Hamburg

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has come to Germany. The eighth part of J.K. Rowling's the Harry Potter saga has been enchanting audiences across the globe since 2016. The play has also been running on Broadway in New York City since 2018 with colossal success, not to mention productions in cities such as Melbourne and San Francisco.

In spring 2020, the theatrical hit from London's West End finally celebrated its premiere in Hamburg with a specially developed German production. To enable such an undertaking, the Mehr! Theatre am Großmarkt was extensively redesigned. Well worth the effort - the Harry Potter play has already been showered with international awards, including a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards, six Tony Awards and many more!

Harry Potter Has Grown Up

Nineteen years have passed since his school days at Hogwarts. Harry Potter is now 37, a father of three and at the same time an overworked employee at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. His youngest son, Albus Severus, is just starting school at Hogwarts and wants nothing to do with his father's inheritance. He befriends Scorpius, of all people, the son of Harry's arch-enemy, Draco Malfoy. In rebellion against his father, and to prove himself, Albus steals a time reverser, risking peace and victory over Voldemort in the present.
