Founded in the mid-1970s by two Americans, the English Theatre of Hamburg is the oldest English-language theatre in all of Germany. The English Theatre's original mission was to use language and the theatrical arts to contribute to international communication. This philosophy endures today.
The company stages several English-language productions a year at its Mundsburg location during its September - June season, covering a range of genres, from classics to works by contemporary playwrights.
