Relax at the Baltic
Just a short ride from Hamburg is Travemuende beach. North of Luebeck, the largest port on the Baltic Sea has over 200 years of seaside tradition. With its cosy atmosphere, Travemuende is the ideal location to relax and unwind.
Seaside Charm
Wander along the 100 year-old promenade and garden next to the sea, and watch the giant ferries and cruise ships pass out to sea. Shops, restaurants and hotels can all be found along the sea front, which is pedestrianised in the summer. In the sunny season there is also an extra pedestrian ferry to take visitors across the Trave river.
The beach itself has a varied coastline, with plenty of soft sand and tranquil beaches, including one which has Germany's only bathing jetty designed especially for dogs. Visitors can also relax on one of the 1200 deck chairs spread out across the beaches.
Travemuender Woche
In July guests can also experience the Travemuender Woche, and exciting week full of sailing competitions, complete with live music and a full events programme onshore.
