A Boom in the Cruise Industry
The public hunger for cruises continues unabated: 2.23 million passengers from the German market took a cruise in 2018 - a new record! The year-on-year passenger growth is up three percent, according to a study by the German Travel Association. In 2019, cruising even grew by another 13.5 percent to 3.1 million guests, according to Statista. The most popular destinations are Northern Europe and the Western Mediterranean.
Sea & River Cruise Convention
‘Seatrade Europe offers industry experts the best conditions for exchanging ideas, cultivating contacts and putting them into practice straight away,’ says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. Around 50 nations and more than 250 exhibitors will be present in Hamburg with their products and services.
Seatrade Europe takes place close to Cruise Days so visitors can get their fill of cruise fun and information from multiple perspectives.
Exhibitors
Exhibitors include shipyards and ship suppliers as well as ship classification societies, tourism organisations, cruise ports and tour operators. From the mini-clinic to the canteen kitchen, from waste disposal to entertainment technology: the operation of a cruise ship is highly complex and a logistical masterpiece. At the parallel conference, high-ranking speakers will also discuss current topics in the industry.
