Hamburg’s Leading Spirits Trade Fair
Hanse Spirit puts high-proof spirits firmly on Hamburg’s culinary calendar. Since 2011, the fair has established itself as the leading public spirits exhibition in northern Germany, attracting aficionados, curious newcomers and industry professionals alike. Each year, Hanse Spirit brings premium spirits from Germany, Europe and beyond to Hamburg, offering a concentrated opportunity to taste, discover and learn.
Over the years, the event has grown steadily in size and reputation, becoming a fixed date in the German spirits scene. Its appeal lies in the combination of well-known international brands, rare bottlings and small producers, as well as the direct exchange with the people behind the products.
What to Expect at Hanse Spirit
Hanse Spirit takes place at Hamburg’s Messehallen and offers visitors a broad and carefully curated selection of spirits from around the world. The range includes whisk(e)y, rum, cognac, gin, vodka, tequila, fine fruit brandies, liqueurs and other speciality spirits, alongside mixers and non-alcoholic beverages for cocktails and long drinks.
Numerous exhibitors present hundreds of open spirits ready for tasting. Producers, importers and brand ambassadors are on site to provide expert advice, share background knowledge and offer guidance on selection and enjoyment, whether spirits are tasted neat or mixed.
In addition to the exhibition stands, Hanse Spirit features an extensive supporting programme. Guided tastings, seminars and in-depth product presentations take place in a separate seminar room, where experienced speakers introduce selected spirits and current trends in greater detail. These sessions are aimed both at private visitors and at professionals looking to expand their expertise.
As a public trade fair, Hanse Spirit is open to all interested visitors, while also serving as an important meeting point for professionals from retail, gastronomy and hospitality. Seating and small-talk areas throughout the hall provide space to relax, exchange impressions and enjoy the atmosphere between tastings.
Food stalls inside the hall and food trucks in the outdoor area offer snacks and meals. Free water stations are available throughout the venue, supporting responsible tasting and allowing visitors to rinse or exchange their tasting glasses.
Hanse Spirit is centrally located at Hamburg Messe and is easily accessible by public transport. Admission is strictly limited to visitors aged 18 and over. Animals are not permitted at the event.
