Through Hamburg’s Largest District
Wandsbek is not the postcard Hamburg of the Alster and the Elphi. It is the city’s largest district: shopping streets, residential blocks, parks and a market square that still behaves like a town centre. On Sunday 20 September 2026 the 12th PSD Bank Half Marathon Hamburg stages a certified 21.1 km loop with start and finish beside the Quarree shopping centre on Wandsbeker Marktstraße. The course heads toward U-Bahn Berne, then returns via Rahlstedt and Tonndorf — a flat, measured run through Hamburg’s greenest borough rather than a city-centre sightseeing circuit. A Kids Race runs on the same weekend. It complements the spring Haspa Marathon rather than competing with it.
Bands and crowds line the route; the start list is built for personal-best hunters as much as for first-timers. Tempoläufer groups mark common finish times. This is Hamburg’s autumn half, not a second spring marathon in disguise.
