Wutzrock Open Air

The quiet woods meet rock music just like the Dove Elbe river meets the Eichbaumsee lake, at the annual Wutzrock Festival.

Wutzrock Open Air
Galactic Entertainment e.V.

With musical performances from a range of genres, from hip-hop to reggae to punk rock, Wutzrock Festival has an established history as one of the bigger music festivals in the greater Hamburg area. The success is due to a number of factors: for starters, the festival’s location combines the proximity to the city with a feeling of absolute seclusion. There are few places close to the city that feel as remote and peaceful as this region by the Dove Elbe river. If you also consider that the Wutzrock Festival is completely free of charge and is financed only through drink sales, there’s really no reason not to pay a visit.

What's more, the Dove Elbe is among the best spots for swimming in Hamburg, so if you need a break from the busy festival, there’s always the cool refreshing river. Others prefer side events such as the children’s festival, political initiatives or games. Being free of charge doesn’t mean, however, that the festival’s line-up is second-rate. Acts like Fatoni, LeFly and Hamburg's punk veterans Slime will have the crowds dancing, swaying, swinging, jumping and pogo-ing all weekend.
