Hamburg's Central Open-Air Jazz Festival

Each year, Planten un Blomen – one of Hamburg's most beautiful parks – provides the wonderful backdrop for the Jazz Open. This open-air jazz festival has long been a cult event and draws up to 10,000 jazz fans to the splendid greens every year.

Outstanding musicians present the current trends in jazz on stage. In 2026, Jazzbüro Hamburg brings ten formations over two days – from duo to big band, including the NDR Bigband – showcasing the rich variety of modern jazz. Visitors can enjoy great music free of charge and in a relaxed atmosphere. So just grab your picnic blanket and indulge in stunning sounds and lovely landscapes!

The Jazz Open Festival has been taking place since 1996. The festival is hosted by the Jazzbüro Hamburg in cooperation with the NDR Jazzredaktion.
