The Cruise Days are the spectacular finale of a week full of cruise-related events. From the Blue Port art installations to the Seatrade fair and the Cruise Parade in the end, Cruise Week is Europe’s biggest event concentrating entirely on cruise ship tourism. This means, of course, that a whole armada of cruise ships berth in Hamburg’s port, which makes for an impressive view from the docks and vantage points of Hamburg. However, not only tourists will get their money’s worth: the FVW CruiseLive congress brings together representatives of some of the most important cruise companies and functions as a major interface between relevant industries.
Cruise Parade
The Cruise Parade is spearheaded by several major cruise ships. Big names like the AIDAprima, Mein Schiff 3, MS EUROPA and MSC Preziosa have joined the impressive parade in years past. Several smaller ships and a grand fireworks display turn the parade into the absolute highlight of the Cruise Days.
Blue Port
Artist Michael Batz illuminates the port area nightly in bright blue lights, making for impressive, almost surreal scenery. Starting in early September, the Blue Port installations grow in number until finally, on Cruise Days weekend, more than a hundred buildings are illuminated in beautiful blue.
