A Wine Mile in the Kiez
Hamburg’s nightlife quarter does not wait for a harvest queen. From Thursday 20 August to Sunday 23 August 2026 the St. Pauli Wine Festival takes over Spielbudenplatz, the open square between the Reeperbahn and the Tanzende Türme. Seven wineries pour whites, rosés and reds from Rheinhessen, the Palatinate, Mosel, Nahe and Friuli. You will not find a vineyard. You will find a neighbourhood street party with glasses instead of beer bottles, and the rest of St. Pauli a few steps away.
That is the point. Admission is free; you pay only for what you taste and eat. Stalls typically serve Flammkuchen, cheese, fish, burgers, crêpes and ice cream — plates you can eat standing up while the square fills. A live programme runs through the evenings; the 2026 acts are confirmed closer to the weekend on the Spielbudenplatz site.
Four Nights on Spielbudenplatz
Thursday after work and Sunday afternoon are the gentler slots; Friday and Saturday run from afternoon until at least 2 a.m. Come by U-Bahn or S-Bahn — parking around the Kiez is scarce on festival weekends.
