Prepare for a Month of Winter Fun!

From 8 November to 8 December 2024, Heiligengeistfeld once again hosts a month filled with winter excitement. Enjoy a wide array of thrilling rides, festive games, warming drinks, delicious food, and the unmistakable DOM atmosphere! With over 230 attractions and a variety of events, there’s something for everyone in the family to explore and enjoy.

New Attractions at the Winter DOM

With over 50 carousels and obstacle courses, Winterdom promises excitement for all ages. Among these are three new additions: the walk-through attraction Fire & Rescue and the roundabout rides Playball and The Polyp, each making their debut in Hamburg.

Fire & Rescue
This four-level maze is sure to captivate young and old fans of the fire brigade, whisking them into the world of the Las Vegas Fire Department. Across four levels, there are 150 effects and obstacles to discover and conquer. Water and fire effects add to the immersive firefighting experience, and, always by your side, is Marshall the fire brigade dog from Paw Patrol.

The Polyp
The giant octopus ride is a treat for the whole family. With four directions of movement and varying speeds, it delivers thrilling, unpredictable ride sequences. The speed can be reduced for younger riders, while in the evening, the octopus powers up to full speed and puts on a dazzling light show. Each gondola has unique in-flight safety belts, allowing children to be further secured. Children aged eight and up can ride alone while younger children are welcome to ride when accompanied by an adult.

Playball
Featuring an acceleration five times that of the Earth’s, combined with rotational pendulum movements and lifts, this ride offers an exhilarating experience filled with surprises. A rotating wheel disc with twelve spherical gondolas on its outer edge rises to a height of 13.5 metres at a 50° angle. A high-speed adventure awaits riders aged eight and over (minimum height 1.5 metres).

Event Highlights at Winter DOM

Spooky Parade on 14 November
When night falls at the DOM, ghosts and demons come alive. Ghouls are free to roam from their ghost trains during this creepy parade, turning the DOM mile into a spine-chilling spectacle. The parade begins at 7 p.m. on Feldstraße, featuring terrifying zombies, scary clowns, and ghastly creatures as it winds through the entire DOM area, stopping for selfies in front of the Geisterfabrik. All visitors are welcome to join in, but beware—the monsters and undead are unpredictable.

Laternenlauf Lights and Lanterns Procession on 20 November
The lights and lanterns procession begins at 5:30 p.m. on Feldstraße. Accompanied by enchanting music, the procession will feature giant, fantastically illuminated figures.

Additionally, Hamburger DOM will provide the first 200 participating children (up to age 8) with a lantern and glow stick, while supplies last. Distribution begins at 4:00 p.m. on Feldstraße.

St. Nicholas Event on 4 and 6 December
The St. Nicholas tent offers a festive experience this year. On 4 and 6 December, children can hand in their wish lists or share their Christmas wishes with St. Nicholas. New this year, there will also be readings of Christmas and winter tales in the tent from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Each story lasts about 10 minutes, with short breaks in between, giving many children the chance to listen. As a keepsake, each child will receive a story to take home. All children up to age 12 are welcome, and entry is free of charge.

Fireworks
This winter, three fireworks displays will light up the night sky in a magnificent sea of colours! For a few minutes, an impressive show of sparks and colours will dazzle over the DOM.

The dates are at 10:30 p.m. on:
8 November
22 November
6 December

Family Day and Bummel the DOM Bear
Every Wednesday, Winterdom transforms into a family paradise! On Family Day, countless rides, games, and attractions offer significantly reduced prices. The DOM’s food stalls and vendors also have tempting deals, making it the perfect day to visit. Whether you’re after thrilling roller coaster rides, exciting games, or delicious snacks, a trip to Northern Germany’s biggest public festival is even more worthwhile on Wednesdays—packed with action and fantastic savings!

For those eager to meet Bummel, the DOM bear, he makes an appearance twice a week in front of the Ferris wheel. Every Wednesday (4:00–6:00 p.m.) and Sunday (3:00–5:00 p.m.), the cheerful DOM bear mingles with visitors for fun snapshots, warm hugs, and a bit of mischief, adding to the lively atmosphere. However, be prepared: if it rains, Bummel prefers to retreat to his cosy bear cave.
