Premiere at the Hamburger DOM: The Nordic Tower
This year’s highlight, the Nordic Tower, sets new benchmarks in amusement. Standing at 80 metres, it is not only the tallest ride at this year's Summer DOM but also one of Germany's grandest transportable chain carousels. The ride promises a blend of thrilling motion and stunning panoramic views of Hamburg. Passengers are secured in 16 double-seaters with seat belts and safety bars, suspended from a rotating star. As the gondolas ascend and swing out to the side, riders experience exhilarating speed and a unique sensation of freedom. At nearly 80 metres high, the feeling is nothing short of breathtaking.
DOM Novelties
This year introduces several exciting new attractions: the Doom - Dark Ride haunted house, the Kaleidoscop walk-through experience, and the Mondlift looping carousel. The Doom haunted house, with its expansive graveyard scene, offers a spine-chilling journey over two floors. The Kaleidoscop immerses visitors in a world of colour and optical illusions, featuring 20 captivating effects. The Mondlift, a rare example of its kind in Germany, combines the thrill of a Ferris wheel with an innovative twist: its gondolas fly upside down, providing a family-friendly looping adventure at 22 metres.
Summer DOM Comebacks
Five beloved attractions make a return to the DOM this year: Airwolf, Frisbee, Gladiator, and the walk-through experiences Aqua Velis and Pirates Adventure. Airwolf, Europe’s only transportable high-speed ride, offers a thrilling experience with its three manually controlled motion sequences and spectacular twists. After a four-year absence, Frisbee, the ultimate swing ride, returns with its 90-degree tilting swing that creates a weightless sensation. Gladiator, the propeller looping carousel, impresses with a 62-metre height and gondolas racing through the air at 90 km/h with 4g acceleration.
The futuristic Aqua Velis, a three-storey water maze, challenges visitors to navigate its fun-filled obstacles without getting drenched. Pirates Adventure, inspired by ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ invites guests through five pirate-themed chambers full of surprises. But watch out – adventure can be just as rough on land as it is at sea!
Beach Club at the Entrance on Feldstraße
Embracing a sun-soaked beach theme, the Summer DOM introduces a beach club at the Feldstraße entrance. This sandy oasis, surrounded by palm trees and plush seating, is the perfect spot to unwind. Enjoy refreshing summer cocktails from the beach bar and bask in the laid-back atmosphere.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the beach club transforms into a lively party destination, featuring various DJs who set a vibrant mood. The weekend culminates with live music from ‘Dorota,’ creating a relaxing ambience. On family days, there’s a special programme for children.
