More than 8,000 Passengers per Call
The terminal can handle up to 8,000 passengers per call. The new building on Kronprinzkai consists of two sections, covering a total area of 9,000 square metres, with passengers departing from the western part of the building and arriving at the eastern part.
The concourse is located on the first floor and can be accessed via the stairs, lift or escalator. From there, passengers board the cruise ship via the passenger boarding bridge.
Steinwerder Location
The Steinwerder Cruise Terminal is in the port area south of the River Elbe, not far from the entrance to the Old Elbe Tunnel, and is particularly well-suited as a location thanks to its infrastructure, which includes a quay frontage of around 500 metres. The car park at the new terminal offers spaces for up to 1,500 cars, as well as additional spaces for taxis, buses and lorries. There are also car hire companies on site, as well as shopping facilities and a bistro.
Getting There by Land or Water
We strongly recommend travelling to the Cruise Center Steinwerder by public transport:
- From Monday to Friday between 5.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m., ferry line 73 runs from the Landungsbrücken piers at least once per hour to the Argentinienbrücke stop. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to the terminal. At weekends, buses 156 (Saturdays only) and 256 stop at the Argentinienbrücke stop.
- Please note that if you are travelling by taxi via the Old Elbe Tunnel, the tunnel toll must also be paid by the passenger. On weekends, the tunnel is closed to cars.
Visitors arriving by car will find the Cruise Center Steinwerder on Buchheisterstraße; please follow the signs to the terminal. Paid parking is available directly in front of the terminal.
