Founded in 1665, Hamburg's is the oldest Chamber of Commerce in Germany. The Chamber acts as an interface between businesses, authorities and markets. As such, it campaigns to create favourable business conditions in Hamburg and provides hands-on advice to registered businesses. On a regional, national and European level, the chamber serves long-established companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and as startups. Activities span everything from financial support for startups to expert advice for businesses in crisis.
Since Hamburg traditionally being one of Northern Europe's leading locations for trans-border trade, the Chamber of Commerce has a strong focus on international business relations, with systems in place to encourage international business.
