Apply for a taxi permit

Prerequisites

The safety and efficiency of the company is guaranteed.

There are no facts that indicate that the applicant or the person appointed to manage the business is unreliable.

The applicant or the person appointed to manage the business has the necessary professional qualifications (proof by certificate from the Chamber of Commerce).

The registered office or branch is located in the country.

Documents required

• Formal application with the following forms:
  application for initial grant
  Application for renewal (extension)
• Proof of the professional qualifications of the applicant or the person appointed to manage the business by means of a certificate issued by the Chamber of Commerce
• asset overview / equity certificate
• Certificate in tax matters and clearance certificates issued by:
• tax office
• Community
• social insurance provider (health insurance)
• Berufsgenossenschaft BG Verkehr
• certificate of good conduct for submission to the authorities
• extract from the Central Trade Register
• Extract from the Driving Aptitude Register (FAER)

General documents:

• vehicle list
• Vehicle registration document with the registration type as a taxi
• business registration
• Extract from the commercial register if the company is registered in the commercial register of the local court (current extract required)
• Proof of contractual authority for partnerships:
• list of shareholders
• partnership agreement
• or appropriate proof

Please note

Only one permit may be issued per applicant, unless more permits can be issued than there are applicants.

Applicants who do not operate the taxi business as their main occupation, who have sold or leased their taxi business in the last 8 years,

have not properly fulfilled their operational obligations.

Legal entities under public law are deemed to be entitled to apply for approval without separate proof of the requirements.

No taxi license is required for Velo Taxis.

However, a special use permit from the responsible district may be required.

The fees for issuing a taxi permit depend on the number of vehicles applied for and the duration of the permit. Payment is made exclusively by Girocard or a conventional credit card.

Deadlines only begin to run when a decision-making application is submitted. If the application is complete, a decision must be made within three months. The deadline can be extended by three months if necessary.

The processing time of the application may depend, among other things, on whether all documents relevant to the decision have been submitted or whether additional documents are required

After receipt of the application, the decision on the application usually takes 3 to 6 months.


The proof of the asset overview / equity certificate must not be older than 12 months.

Procedure

Submit the application to the Authority for Transport and Mobility Transition, along with all required documents.

The transport industry supervisory authority will examine your application and carry out the necessary hearing procedures to clarify all legal and substantive aspects.

Once processing is complete, you will receive feedback on your application.

If the answer is positive, the approval will be granted or revoked.

The approval certificates will then be handed over to you.

Processing time

The processing time is usually 2 weeks to 3 months.

Fees

The fee is usually between EUR 100.00 and EUR 1,465.
