Please note

Please use the online service for taxi and rental car licenses to formally apply for an extension of your taxi license.

Applicants who do not operate the taxi business as their main occupation or who have sold or leased their business in whole or in part in the last 8 years will be given lower priority. The same applies if the obligation to operate has not been properly fulfilled.

In addition, each applicant can in principle only be granted one permit, unless there are more permits available than there are applicants.

Existing entrepreneurs will be given appropriate consideration over new applicants. Within the approval quotas, consideration will be given in the order in which applications are submitted.

Please submit your application early, as delays may occur due to incomplete documents or internal review processes. The processing time may depend, among other things, on whether all documents relevant to the decision have been submitted or whether additional documents need to be requested.

Further information on how to appeal the decision on your application can be found in the decision on your application.

Deadlines

The deadline for deciding on your application begins as soon as a fully prepared application is received.

The evidence of the clearance certificates must not be older than 3 months.

A decision on the application is usually made within 3 months.

If necessary, the deadline may be extended by a further 3 months.

Procedure

If you wish to increase the number of your taxi vehicles, you must submit a formal application to extend your taxi license to the relevant transport authority.

The Transport Industry Inspectorate of the Authority for Transport and Mobility Transition will examine your application and carry out the necessary hearing procedures.

Once the review is complete, you will receive feedback on your application.

If the approval is positive, the extended permit will be issued, including the issuing of the permit certificates.

Processing time

The processing time varies between the responsible transport authorities.

Fees

The amount of the fees depends on the number of vehicles and the duration of the permit and is usually EUR 100.00 - EUR 1,465.
