Detailed description

If you want to manufacture, process, or repair firearms or ammunition commercially or independently as part of a business venture, you need a firearms manufacturing permit. You must apply for this permit from the relevant authority.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • They are reliable within the meaning of the firearms law.
  • You are personally suitable within the meaning of the Weapons Act.
  • You are competent within the meaning of the Weapons Act.
  • You have a legitimate need within the meaning of the Weapons Act that justifies the granting of a permit.
  • You will engage in arms trading either commercially or independently as part of a commercial enterprise.

Documents required

  • Proof of your need (for example, business registration)
  • Proof of your expertise
  • Proof of your expertise
  • Proof of your branch and your business or business premises
  • if applicable: copy of previously issued weapons manufacturing permit
  • Proof that your weapons and ammunition are stored safely (e.g. certificates or safety reports)
  • if applicable: extract from the commercial register

Please note

You must report the commencement and cessation of your business, as well as the opening and closure of a branch or dependent branch.

Deadlines

The permit expires if you do not commence the activity within one year of the permit being granted or if you do not carry out the activity for one year. The deadlines can be extended for special reasons.

  • The required documents will be checked; if necessary, you may have to submit additional documents
  • The responsible authority will decide on your application and inform you of the decision in writing.
