You are required to pay a contribution to the animal health insurance fund in Hamburg for your livestock and you will be sent a notification of the annual contribution every year.

Detailed description

The Tierseuchenkasse Hamburg collects compulsory contributions from all relevant animal keepers on the basis of the Hamburg Implementation Act for the Animal Health Act and the contribution ordinance issued for it. If you keep cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and/or horses, you are affected and obliged to pay the annual fee.

Legal remedies

Objections to this decision can be raised within one month of notification to the office specified in the letterhead. According to Section 80, Paragraph 2, No. 1 of the Administrative Court Code, raising an objection does not release you from the obligation to pay the contributions by the specified date. A special administration fee is charged for an unsuccessful objection procedure in accordance with Section 3 (2) and Section 2 (2) of the Fees Act in conjunction with No. 7 of the Annex to the Fees Act.
