Important notes

Prerequisites

All Germans who have reached the age of 18 on election day, have lived in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least three months or are otherwise habitual and who are not excluded from the right to vote are entitled to vote in the Bundestag elections.
If you live abroad: If the other requirements are met, Germans who live outside Germany on election day are also entitled to vote, provided they 1. have lived in an apartment in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least three consecutive months after they have reached the age of fourteen or have otherwise resided normally and this stay was not more than 25 years ago or 2. have acquired personal and direct familiarity with the political situation in the Federal Republic of Germany for other reasons and are affected by them.
