Detailed description
Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that most often affects the lungs, but can also attack other organs. The tuberculosis control center's mission is to prevent transmission of the disease, detect infections early, and stop its spread.
If you are affected, the staff of the Tuberculosis Control Center will support you in successfully treating the disease, as well as in filling out applications to government offices or other agencies so that you can receive, for example, social benefits, housing allowance or benefits from long-term care and health insurance.
If you have had contact with a person infected with tuberculosis, please examine and advise the staff. In case of infection or illness, they will refer you to experts for further diagnosis and treatment.
In addition, the staff of the Tuberculosis Control Unit also advise medical professionals and conduct screening examinations for tuberculosis in accordance with the Infection Protection Act.
