Please note
For the medical and social counseling offer for those affected, relatives and contact persons, we ask you to register in advance by telephone.
Since the fight against tuberculosis in the health department in Hamburg-Mitte
is centralized, we are responsible for all Hamburg districts.
For short-term X-rays of residents

Practices for people without health insurance is by telephone
Contact the X-ray department during opening hours
possible. In principle, no appointment is necessary for this.
Multilingual information sheets about the legally required X-ray screening for homeless people in communal accommodation can be found under "Forms and downloads" below.
We do not issue any health certificates for stays abroad (e.g. for pupils and students) and do not offer any skin or blood tests for tuberculosis infection for this purpose. Anyone who needs a certificate stating that they are not suffering from tuberculosis should contact their family doctor or a lung specialist. We are also unable to offer corresponding blood tests for tuberculosis infection (e.g. QuantiFERON®) for the above-mentioned stays abroad.

Processing time
Depending on the extent of the examination(s) you need, an appointment at the tuberculosis control center including advice lasts between 20 and 60 minutes.

Service description
The task of the tuberculosis control center is to prevent the transmission of tuberculosis disease in humans; Detect infections early and prevent them from spreading
we
- help those affected with the application to the authorities and arrange help, for example according to the Housing Benefit Act, Social Code Book II and Social Code Book XII, the Severely Disabled Persons Act, the Nursing Care Insurance Act or health insurance
- carry out consultations and examinations of contact persons on the basis of the Infection Protection Act (e.g. blood tests, X-rays of the lungs)
- advise medical professionals and arrange experts for the further diagnostics and therapy of tuberculosis
