The Specialized Office for Social Space Management (SR) is responsible for interdisciplinary social space planning and the controlling of facilities and measures of the social infrastructure in the respective district. All payments to non-state providers of social institutions and measures in the respective district are processed here. The urban sports facilities in the district are administered by SR, the district senior meetings and senior circles, as well as the district culture facilities are promoted and controlled here. In addition, the Social Space Management specialist office works across disciplines on the cross-cutting issues of integrating people with a migration background and promoting civic engagement. The specialist office also has a coordinating function in the area of education and local employment. In the district offices of Eimsbüttel, Hamburg-Nord, Wandsbek, Bergedorf and Harburg, the specialist offices are also responsible for integrated urban development. In the district offices of Altona and Hamburg-Mitte, the specialist offices for urban and landscape planning are responsible for integrated urban development.
