Collection fund for fines

Prerequisites

In order to be able to apply for an allocation of fines, the applicants must be on a list kept by the judicial authority. Institutions that meet the following requirements can be entered in this list:

• They serve charitable purposes within the meaning of tax law
• They are based in Hamburg or work for Hamburg citizens to a significant extent in the context of their overall tasks.
• You undertake to submit qualified evidence of the proper use of these allocated funds to the judicial authorities within 9 months of the payment of a possible fine allocation.
• You agree to a reclaim by the judicial authority if the evidence has not been provided in due time.
• You agree to have the appropriate use of the fines checked by the judicial authority on site.
• You agree to have its use checked by the Court of Auditors of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

A new application (petition) must be submitted for each distribution date. You can obtain further information on the form and content of the petition and on further questions by calling the telephone number provided.

Please note

Application for inclusion in the list must be made in writing, as must participation in a distribution date. For the application for inclusion in the list, a declaration must be completed, signed and sent by post with the necessary attachments (copies) to the collective fund for fines in the judicial authority. It is not possible to fax or email applications.

Deadlines

The application deadline for the petition to participate in the distribution of fines in spring is February 28, and for distribution in autumn it is August 31. The date of receipt by the judicial authority is decisive.
