Register broadcasting fee

Prerequisites

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You do not yet have to pay a license fee for your apartment
• another person does not yet pay a license fee for your apartment

Documents required

• informal letter by post or
• completed registration form on the Internet

Please note

The license fee replaced the license fee on January 1, 2013.
The premiums were automatically changed for private individuals as early as 2013.

Special regulations apply to companies, institutions and the self-employed.

Deadlines

The obligation to contribute begins on the first of the month in which you have an apartment for the first time. That means you

• live there,


• are reported there or


• are named in the lease as the tenant.

Procedure

You have to register your apartment with the competent authority.

Note: If you have previously paid broadcasting fees, these will automatically be switched to the broadcasting fee. You will usually receive mail from the contribution service.

Tip: If you do not have to pay a fee, for example because another resident in the apartment is already paying the license fee, you can unsubscribe from the fee service.
