Prerequisites
There is a danger to life or other doubts about a person’s state of health.
You should call 112 in all life-threatening emergencies that require immediate medical attention. These include:
- Cardiac arrest: When someone is unconscious and no longer breathing.
- Serious accidents: traffic accidents, falls from heights, severe burns or drowning accidents.
- Acute illnesses: Sudden severe chest pain, suspected stroke, severe allergic reactions, poisoning.
- Serious injuries: deep cuts or stab wounds, severe bone fractures.
- Complications of chronic diseases: worsening of the condition of known serious diseases such as asthma, diabetes or epilepsy.
It is important to note that 112 is for emergencies.
If you call the emergency number for less urgent medical problems and requests for assistance, this may block the availability of another emergency call.
