Detailed description

An organ donor card is a document that allows you to decide whether you want to donate organs or tissue after your death. You enter whether you want to donate, which organs or tissue can be donated, or whether you refuse to donate. The card gives you the opportunity to decide for yourself and relieves your relatives, as they know what you want in an emergency. You can change or destroy the card at any time.

You can obtain the blank organ donor card from your health insurance company, from GP practices, pharmacies, customer centers of the Hamburg district offices or as a download from the Internet.
You can also order it via the organ donation information line. The toll-free number 0800/90 40 400 is available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is also available for download on the website of the Federal Center for Health Education.
