Service description

As areas for naturally Hamburg! nature reserves, parks and other green areas have been selected throughout Hamburg and four arterial roads with greenery along the roads.
In Project I from 2017 to 2021:
In addition to the first visible measures, the condition of these areas is also recorded in detail, after which a maintenance and development plan is drawn up. This survey starts with the inner-city parks Wallanlagen and Planten un Blomen, with the nature reserves the Schnaakenmoor. And even roadsides are being examined for their natural potential: the major arterial roads Eiffe- and Bergedorfer Straße, Hamburger Straße to Bergstedt and others are to become more colorful and ecologically diverse by setting optical accents with near-natural vegetation in close cooperation with districts, local initiatives, Schools, sports clubs, housing cooperatives and much more. As a pilot project for near-natural areas in parks, a show garden is to be created in Planten un Blomen.
In the second phase (Project II) of naturally Hamburg!, planned from 2022 to 2031, the measures of the care and development plan are to be implemented. A total of 21 parks and green areas, 19 nature reserves and three areas of the biotope network distributed throughout Hamburg are planned as a funding area for Project II around 6,200 hectares of the city area. Among other things, it is planned to create species-rich flower meadows in parks, to promote wild shrubs and to secure old trees and dead wood in green areas. The nature reserves are to be ecologically upgraded and made more visitor-friendly with signposted circular routes, display boards and nature experience apps.
