Protecting children and young people: Is a child or young person being neglected or abused? The professionals at the Child Protection Hotline can help.

Detailed description

If you are experiencing violence, threats, bullying, blackmail, abuse, or other dangers, or if you know that another child or young person is affected, you can get help at any time. The child protection hotline is available 24 hours a day, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The child protection hotline specialists will provide you with advice and support.



Even as an adult, you can call if there are indications of a dangerous situation for a child or young person. Don't hesitate to call—all signs or suspicions are important and will be taken seriously.

Procedure

  • You call the child protection hotline and describe the problem.
    • Where does the affected child or young person live?
    • What is known about the situation in the affected family?
    • Is it known whether other agencies (e.g. the youth welfare office) are in contact with the affected person or family?
  • The hotline specialist will describe what is available for protection or support on the phone.
  • If necessary, the specialist will refer you to other places that can provide additional assistance.
  • You can contact the child protection hotline again at any time if further questions or problems arise.
