Documents required

Your child must be present at the appointment.

All required documents must always be submitted in the original or as a certified copy.

  • when applying for the first time or if the old child’s passport is lost/stolen:

  • The children's passport does not contain an electronic storage medium (chip). In some countries - e.g. B. in the USA - can only be entered without a visa if the passport contains a chip. A normal passport is required for a visa-free entry of the child in these countries.

  • Since January 1, 2021, children's passports can only be issued with a maximum validity of twelve months. Children's passports issued previously remain valid until the validity date printed on them.
