Keeping dangerous dogs is strictly forbidden. If you want to keep a dangerous dog, you need the permission of the competent authority.

Permission must be applied for from the competent authority before the start of the keeping. The owner has to prove the special interest in the keeping of the dangerous dog (§ 15 paragraph 1 number 3 letter a) as well as its reliability for dealing with dangerous dogs (§ 15 paragraph 1 number 2).
Bull terriers, pit bull terriers, American Staffordshire terriers and Staffordshire bull terriers are always considered dangerous dogs. Permission is required to keep the dog, the dog must always be kept with a muzzle and a leash.
Bullmastiff, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Fila Brasileiro, Kangal, Caucasian Owtscharka, Mastiff, Mastin Espanol, Mastino Napoletano, Rottweiler and Tosa Inu are also considered dangerous. However, you can get an exemption for them (see related links).
