The social psychiatric service supports you if you have mental health problems and offers advice and help.

Detailed description

The Social Psychiatric Service offers advice and support for mental health problems. It serves as both a crisis intervention service and a counseling center for people aged 18 and over in acute crisis situations.

  • with suicidal thoughts,
  • with mental health problems,
  • with mental illnesses or disabilities,
  • with addiction problems,
  • as well as those with intellectual disabilities.

Both those affected themselves, as well as their relatives, friends, colleagues or neighbors can contact the Social Psychiatric Service.

  • Help in crisis situations (also on site),
  • Home visits if needed,
  • telephone information and advice,
  • Information and referral to individual assistance,
  • Information and referral to treatment and therapy options,
  • Assessments commissioned by other offices and authorities,
  • Advice and assistance with questions regarding guardianship and accommodation law.

No medical treatment will be provided.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • The assistance is intended for people aged 18 and over.
  • They are aimed at people with a mental illness, disorder or disability.
  • Family members of these individuals can also receive support.
  • Mental illnesses also include addictions.

Documents required

The required documents will be communicated individually after a telephone consultation.

Please note

In emergencies, the responsibility of the Social Psychiatric Service depends on the current location of the incident / the location of the person concerned.



Exception:


The Youth Psychiatric Service is responsible for young people under 21 years of age who are housed in a facility of the State Enterprise for Education and Counseling (LEB).



Outside of office hours, in acute crises please contact the general medical on-call service (Tel.: 116 117), the Hamburg crisis hotline (040 428 11 3000), the psychiatric emergency departments of hospitals or, in case of acute danger, the police emergency number 110.
