Apply for a special parking permit for parking at the deployment location

Prerequisites

• They run a craft business or care service, or are a doctor or midwife.
• Parking the vehicle on site is absolutely necessary due to
  • your nursing or medical work or
  • the urgency of your activity (for example, to avoid imminent dangers such as burst water pipes or power outages)

In principle, the same rules apply to all visitors and short-term parkers in managed parking areas. Special parking permits are therefore only issued in urgent individual cases. Such a permit does not serve solely to simplify organization or save time.

Documents required

• a signed informal application with a detailed description of the activity to be carried out and the purpose of using the vehicle
• a copy (front and back) of the vehicle registration certificate Part I (vehicle registration document) of the vehicle for which the authorization is to apply

Additionally for care services:

• Proof of activity (for example, a copy of the business registration or the commercial register extract)
• If available: current proof of membership in a welfare organization (from the current calendar year)

Additionally for midwives:

• Proof of professional practice as a midwife (for example, registration of freelance activity, certificate of permission to use the professional title)

Additionally for general practitioners:

• Proof of the home visits carried out (for example, confirmation from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians)

Additionally for craft businesses:

• an explanation of vehicle use and its importance for operations
• a copy of the business registration or the commercial register extract
• If a special parking permit is only valid for certain streets or a pedestrian zone, more detailed location information may be required.

Additionally, during assembly work:

• Entry in the vehicle registration document as a service vehicle or workshop vehicle
• Alternatively, you can submit images that clearly show: the license plate, the installation of a fixed workbench (or similar as per the application documents), and the exterior of the vehicle with lettering/branding/company logo.

Please note

• Special parking permits valid for less than three months can be applied for at your local police station.
• Other people must not be endangered or obstructed during use.
• Your special parking permit is not transferable to other vehicles. If you change your vehicle, you can have the registered license plate changed for a fee during the permit's validity period.
• Submitting an application does not create any legal entitlement to the granting of an exemption.
• If you still have a special parking permit in paper form, display it visibly in the vehicle.

Deadlines

• Depending on the application, the special parking permit is valid for between 6 and 36 months.


• For special parking permits with a validity period of less than 3 months, please contact your local police station.

Procedure

• Please use our online application process (see links below) to submit your application.
• The State Transport Authority (LBV) will review your application.
• You will receive your special parking permit digitally. You will receive an email notification as soon as the permit is granted and can be used in the VIATO Parking app.
• Your special parking permit is now stored digitally for verification purposes. You can park accordingly without having to display any documents. Simply log in to the app and log out when you are ready to leave.
• Should your application be rejected, you will receive the rejection by mail.

Processing time

Processing usually takes 2 to 6 weeks.

Fees

The fees for the special parking permit depend, among other things, on the period of validity:

• 6 months - 150.00 EUR


• 12 months - 250.00 EUR


• 18 months - 350.00 EUR


• 24 months - 450.00 EUR


• 30 months - 550.00 EUR


• 36 months - 650.00 EUR

An additional charge of EUR 0.30 per adhesive seal will be added.


If your care provider can prove that they belong to a welfare organization, the special parking permit may be free of charge in certain cases.


If your application is rejected, you will also be charged a fee of 75%. Subsequent withdrawal of your application is also subject to a fee. In this case, you will be charged a fee of 50% of the original fee.


The basis for this is the Administrative Costs Act (VwKostG) in conjunction with the Fee Schedule for Measures in Road Traffic (GebOSt).
