Apply for a special parking permit for parking on site

Prerequisites

• You run a company, institution, organization, association or social institution.
• The location is in a residents' parking area.
• The vehicle is necessary to maintain operations and is suitable for the specified purpose (e.g. transport of goods, materials, people or animals).
• No other means of transport can be used for the stated purpose.
• There is no private parking space.

Documents required

• Proof of activity (e.g. registration in the relevant professional, commercial or association register or other proof that proves the exercise of the profession or activity)
• Rental agreement or land register extract
• an application stating the reasons for the above requirements. Please address the following points in particular:
  • How does the operation work?
  • Which items/products are transported and in what quantities?
  • What is the necessity for using the requested vehicle?
  • Why can't other means of transport be used?
• Registration certificate Part I (vehicle registration document) of the vehicle
• Explanation that there is no private parking space

Additionally when applying for multiple vehicles:

• Photos of the items or products to be transported
• Photos of the loaded vehicles
• Indication of whether a special parking permit is requested for each vehicle or for a specific number of vehicles parked at the same time (quota)

Please note

• During use, other persons must not be endangered or hindered.
• The German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) stipulate that residents of residential parking areas are entitled to a parking permit only. All other interest groups—including companies, institutions, organizations, clubs, and social institutions—can only be exempted from the StVO regulations in exceptional cases. Since there is generally no legal entitlement, special parking permits for this group must always be examined on a case-by-case basis.

Deadlines

The special parking permit is valid for 1 year.

Procedure

• Please use our online application process (see links below) to submit your application.
• The State Transport Authority (LBV) will review your application.
• You will receive your special parking permit digitally. You will receive an email notification as soon as the permit is granted and can be used in the VIATO Parking app.
• Your special parking permit is now stored digitally for verification purposes. You can park accordingly without having to display any documents. Simply log in to the app and log out when you are ready to leave.
• Should your application be rejected, you will receive the rejection by mail.
• For any questions from you or the LBV, the online application procedure is also available, or you can contact us by phone or email.

Processing time

The processing time is usually 2 - 6 weeks.

Fees

250.30 EUR


If your application is rejected, fees of EUR 187.50 will also apply.


The basis for the collection of fees is the fee schedule for measures in road traffic (GebOSt).


Subsequent withdrawal of your application is also subject to a fee. In this case, you will be required to pay a fee equal to 50% of the original fee. This fee is based on the Administrative Costs Act (VwKostG) in conjunction with the Fee Schedule for Measures in Road Traffic (GebOSt). Submitting an application does not confer a legal entitlement to the granting of an exemption.
