Take the dangerous goods driver test
To transport dangerous goods by road, you must have an ADR training certificate.
Important notes
Prerequisites
You will only be admitted to the respective exam if you have attended the relevant IHK-recognized training course without absenteeism.
You will only be admitted to the examination for an advanced course if you have passed the examination for the basic course in addition to participating in a recognized training course.
You will only be admitted to the refresher exam
if you present a valid ADR training certificate in addition to participating in a recognized training course.

Please note
With this certificate you can prove that you have been trained in the special requirements for the transport of dangerous goods and that you have passed the relevant tests. The training courses are carried out in Hamburg by training organizers who are recognized by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also responsible for testing and issuing the ADR certificate.

The ADR certificate is valid for 5 years.

Procedure
First, you attend a course of at least 2.5 days with a recognized organizer.
- As a rule, the training organizer will register you for the examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). If not, register online or in writing with the IHK.
- The Chamber of Industry and Commerce conducts the test. This usually takes place directly after the course in the organizer's premises.
- The examination is passed if the number of errors stated on the examination sheet has not been exceeded.
Processing time
As a rule, you will receive notification of passing or failing the exam about 2 weeks after taking the exam.

Service description
To do this, you must first attend a training course of at least two and a half days from a recognized course organizer. You then have to pass an examination at the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
The examination for dangerous goods drivers is usually carried out by the locally responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce following the relevant training in the training organizer's premises.

Initial training
- Basic course 45 minutes
- Advanced tank course 45 minutes
- Advanced course class 1 30 minutes
- Advanced course class 7 30 minutes
- 30 minute refresher training
ADR training certificates are extended for a further 5 years from the validity date if the refresher training has been successfully completed within 12 months before the ADR training certificate expires.
