Once the retention period has expired, the lost property will be sorted by the responsible authority. All lost property that cannot be auctioned and lost property with non-deletable data will be recycled in accordance with data protection regulations.
Consumer electronics, clothing, toys and sporting goods, household goods, digital devices, watches and jewelry.
- The items called up in face-to-face auctions have not been checked for functionality. Bicycles were not tested for roadworthiness.
- The principle applies to all in-person auctions held by the responsible authority: auctioned as seen!
- You have no warranty claims due to a possible defect in the purchased item.
- Due to space constraints, it is unfortunately not possible to view the bicycles individually before the auctions. During the auction, the bikes will be clearly visible to all visitors.

The retention period for lost property is up to 6 months.

- Lost property that has not been collected after the retention period has expired and is in good condition will be released for auction.
- You can bid for these lost property items at a public auction and purchase them.
- Take a close look at the lost property before the auction.
- If you have purchased a lost property at a public auction, pay for it directly on site.
- You must take the auctioned lost property with you straight away. It cannot be kept for you.

There are no fees for the auction.
The costs for the auctioned item must be paid with EC card or cash. 500 EUR notes cannot be accepted.

Mon 7am-4pm, Tues 7am-1pm, Thurs 8.30am-1pm and 2pm-6pm, closed on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The lost and found office is open and can be visited without prior contact. In the case of a personal visit, waiting times are to be expected. Please use the creation of a loss report at www.hamburg.de/fundbuero or send us a written request to:zentrales-fundbuero@altona.hamburg.de to clarify whether the found item is actually the lost item. Lost and found items can be sent if transferred in advance. Bicycle auctions are currently not taking place on site. Bicycles are auctioned online via www.zoll-auktion.de.
