Driving license, provisional driving license

• The driver's license is no longer in possession or needs to be extended. An application for a replacement or an extension must have been submitted beforehand.
• The main residence of the driver's license holder under registration law is Hamburg

• a valid identity card or passport with a current registration certificate
• if applicable, the existing driver's license
• the appointment confirmation

validity
The provisional driving license is only valid in Germany and does not entitle you to drive abroad.

Place of application
The Landesbetrieb Verkehr (LBV). Applications can only be made at the LBV-Mitte or LBV-Nord locations.

Appointment booking
Appointments are booked through the Landesbetrieb Verkehr (LBV). Proceed as follows here:
1. Visit the website for booking an appointment (see link below) and select a driver's license under the service group
a. the driver's license theft service if your driver's license has been stolen,
b. Loss of driver's license / damaged driver's license replacement service if you have lost your driver's license or it is damaged,
c. the service driver's license extension D (for driver's licenses of the D-classes) if your temporary driving license has expired or
d. the service driver's license extension C / CE (for driver's licenses of the C-classes).
2. Use the location selection to display appointments at a specific location.
3. After selecting the location, use the calendar displayed to select a free appointment (date and time).
4. Now enter your name and your e-mail address for booking.
5. You will receive an email. Please confirm the appointment.

Please bring the appointment confirmation that you will receive with you to the appointment.
