Driver's license, new issue after withdrawal

Prerequisites

The applicant must have his main residence in Hamburg.
In the case of a blocking period, the application for a new issue can be submitted at the earliest three months before expiry at the LBV-Mitte location.

Documents required

• a valid identity card or passport with a current confirmation of registration
• a biometric passport photo 35 x 45 millimeters
• a certificate of good conduct (characteristic O for official purposes at the registration office), not older than 3 months
• the appointment confirmation
• if available: the final court decision (penal order or judgment) on the revocation of the driver's license
• if you previously lived in another city and only recently moved to Hamburg: confirmation from the previously responsible authority that your file was sent to the Landesbetrieb Verkehr

additionally for driving licenses for motor vehicles up to 3.5 tons and motorcycles (classes A, A1, B, BE, M, L or T):

• an eye test (e.g. by an optician), not older than 2 years
• Proof of having attended first aid training

additionally for all larger motor vehicles (classes C, C1, CE, C1E, D, D1, DE or D1E):

• An opinion from an ophthalmologist in accordance with Annex 6 of the Driving License Ordinance (FeV), validity: maximum two years from the date of issue
• Medical reports for C/D classes in accordance with Annex 5 FeV (family doctor or occupational traffic physician for D classes), validity: max. 1 year from the date of issue
• Proof of participation in first aid training, provided that class B was issued before August 1st, 1969

Please note

A personal consultation at the LBV-Mitte is recommended for:

• a reissue in connection with an MPU (medical psychological examination; aptitude test)
• a necessary advanced seminar

• Follow the steps to reserve an appointment.
• You will receive an email. Confirm your reserved appointment using the link in the email.
• You will receive an appointment confirmation. Bring these with you to your appointment.

Fees

The fees for a new driver's license are approx. EUR 235.00. The specific amount can only be determined on site after the complete documents have been submitted. The basis for this is the fee schedule for measures in road traffic (GebOSt).
