External examination for general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
The external examination gives the opportunity to acquire the general higher education entrance qualification at a later date. The prerequisite is that the examinees - such as the pupils of the state-approved private schools (independent schools) or self-taught persons - do not attend any state or state-recognized Hamburg schools that lead to the Abitur. The exam consists of a written and an oral exam.
Registration form (available at the school information center), passport photo (not older than three months), curriculum vitae with a detailed description of the educational path, photocopy of the birth certificate or passport copy (proof / certificate in the case of name change), photocopy of the diploma or leaving certificate of the state or state last visited recognized general education school, information on the areas of work and the special focus of the examination preparation in four copies
