Apply for entry in the directory of non-licensed trades or in the directory of trades similar to trades

Prerequisites

• Practice of a trade that does not require a license or a trade similar to a trade in accordance with Annex B to the Crafts Code (HwO).
• For the registration you do not need any proof of qualification or master craftsman's title - in contrast to a craft trade that is subject to registration in the register of craftsmen.

• Presentation of ID card or passport with confirmation of registration or residence permit or other comparable personal documents (for online procedures you need your new ID card or a comparable authentication option)
• Current excerpt from the commercial register or articles of association (for legal entities)
• Registered companies should submit a current excerpt from the commercial register when submitting their application. Legal entities in the process of being founded (e.g. GmbH, AG) submit the articles of association or the articles of association.
• if necessary, further documents according to § 20 in connection with § 17 paragraph 1 Crafts Code (HwO)

Procedure

• You submit an application to the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts for entry in the register of owners of a business in a trade that does not require a license or a trade similar to a trade.
• There is the option of handling the procedure via a single point of contact, such as the point of single contact responsible for the place of work.
• After an examination by the Chamber of Crafts, the entry is made in the register of owners of a business in a trade that does not require a license or a trade similar to a trade.
• The Chamber of Crafts will issue you with a confirmation (trade card) of the entry.

Processing time

Processing takes a maximum of 3 months after receipt of the application including the complete documents (compare § 10 paragraph 1 Crafts Code).

The costs are based on the fee schedule of the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts.

To register a trade that does not require a license or a trade similar to a craft as a permanent trade, apply for entry in the register of owners of a trade that does not require a license or a trade that is similar to a craft.
If you submit the application in writing, you must enclose the documents to be submitted - depending on the Chamber of Crafts - as copies, certified copies or the originals.
A trade is a trade that does not require a license or a trade similar to a trade if it is carried out as a trade and is listed in Appendix B of the Trades and Crafts Code (see legal bases).
After notification of the craft-like trade, the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts will issue you with confirmation of entry in the register of owners of a business in a trade that does not require a license or a craft-like trade (commercial license). With the business card, you can later legitimize yourself as a registered business.
