Information

Prerequisites

Hamburg School Act, § 38, Start of Compulsory Schooling
(1) Children who have reached the age of 6 before 1 July shall be required to attend school on 1 August of the same calendar year.

Documents required

Information about the procedure and the required documents can be obtained from every primary school. Information about the registration period can be obtained from the school information center.

Please note

Registration for first graders and preschool children takes place in spring; the dates are announced in the press in November/December and posted in the elementary schools.

The school information center is no longer in the Hamburger Meile shopping center!
