Point of single contact for professional recognition, social pedagogues, social workers, childhood pedagogues

Prerequisites

Successful completion of a university degree (Bachelor or Diploma) acquired abroad.

Documents required

- A tabular list of the training courses completed and the jobs carried out in German
- A proof of identity
- Proof of training acquired abroad
- Proof of relevant professional experience
- A declaration of whether and to which body an application for determination of equivalence has already been submitted
- If applicable, a decision issued by another country

Please note

The adaptation course is ensured as part of the regular studies at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Social Work (BA) or Education and Upbringing in Childhood BA), through participation in individual seminars and is therefore also based on the corresponding semester times. This also means that not all of the seminars that need to be made up are offered every semester.

Deadlines

Aptitude tests can be offered twice a year (June and January / February) if the applications have been submitted by at least the end of March or the end of October of each year.

Processing time

Applications will be decided within the three-month period stipulated by law, provided no further inquiries have to be made to the ZAB.

Fees

The fees for a determination procedure are EUR 270.00. The fees for an adaptation course depend on the duration and scope of the fee schedule of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
