Hamburg Chamber of Psychotherapists
Single point of contact for professional recognition, neuropsychological therapy (corresponds to clinical neuropsychology M-WBO)
As part of an assessment procedure, licensed psychological psychotherapists and licensed child and adolescent psychotherapists can have the equivalence of their foreign neuropsychological further education determined with a German qualification.

Application to the Hamburg Chamber of Psychotherapists
Documents required
1. The license to practice medicine or a license to practice
2. proof of identity,
3. a tabular listing of the advanced training and professional experience,
4. an officially certified copy of the certificates of continuing education and certificates of professional experience
5. in cases of paragraph 2 WBO § 16 certificates of conformity or evidence of activities over the last 5 years
6. in cases of paragraph 3 WBO § 16 additional evidence to check equivalence
7. In the event that evidence of further training is issued in other Member States that was completed in whole or in part in third countries, documents showing that
a) the further training in the institution concerned has been officially certified by the competent authority in the issuing Member State,
b) this corresponds to that which would have been awarded had the further training course been completed in full in the issuing Member State, and
c) so that the same professional rights are conferred in the territory of the issuing Member State.
If the documents and certificates mentioned under Nos. 1 to 7 are not issued in German, they must also be submitted in a certified translation.
The applicant is obliged to submit all documents necessary for the determination of equivalence and to provide all information required for this.

Processing time
4 months, longer processing time possible, depends on the informative value of the documents submitted and the scope of the necessary review
