Education package lunch at school apply for reimbursement

Prerequisites

• Your school or your child's school offers a communal lunch service.
• You have a low income and the responsible authority has, after examining your documents, issued a certificate proving that you or your child are entitled to participate in the free lunch program or
• You are entitled to or receive
  • Citizen's allowance
  • Social assistance or basic security in old age or due to incapacity for work
  • Benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
  • Housing benefit
  • Child supplement under the Federal Child Benefit Act

Documents required

To apply for benefit approval:

• Documents that prove your income and financial situation (e.g. benefit notices, salary slips, bank statements)

If necessary, the responsible authority may request further documents from you.

For billing the school for lunch:

• Approval notice or certificate of performance

Please note

In Hamburg, foster children and individuals receiving vocational training assistance (BAB), training allowances, or student or pupil BAFÖG (Federal Education and Training Assistance) can also claim reimbursement. The state of Hamburg provides this benefit to these groups on a voluntary basis.

Snacks during breaks are not paid for.

The responsible office is the Job Center team.arbeit.hamburg (if you are employable) or the social services office responsible for you in the district office (if you are not employable).

• Please complete the form provided in the “Links” section and send it to the responsible office along with any necessary documents.
• The responsible authority will examine your application and request any necessary documents from you.
• The responsible authority will decide on your application and inform you of the decision in writing.
• You or your child register for lunch at school and present your benefit certificate.
• The school will settle the costs of lunch with the responsible authority.
