Detailed description

Recipients of unemployment benefit II, social benefits, benefits under the Social Security Code XII (social assistance, basic security), recipients of benefits under Paragraphs 2 or 3 of the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, housing benefit or child allowance under the Federal Child Benefit Act can receive this benefit as part of the education package, provided the school has a Offering lunch.

In Hamburg, foster children, recipients of vocational training allowance (BAB) or training allowance as well as recipients of student or pupil BAFÖG can also receive this benefit (the federal state of Hamburg grants these groups of people the benefit voluntarily).

Lunch is then free. Snacks during breaks are not paid for.

Prerequisites

  • Schoolchildren under 25 years of age who or whose parents are recipients of unemployment benefit II, social benefits, benefits under the Social Security Code XII (social assistance, basic security), benefits under Paragraphs 2 or 3 of the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, housing benefit or child allowance under the Federal Child Benefit Act (age limit v. 25 J. does not apply to recipients according to SGB XII and AsylbLG)
  • Attendance at a general or vocational school with lunch
  • no training allowance received

Documents required

The notification of approval or a certificate (confirmation of performance) must be presented to the school secretariat.

The certificate (confirmation of performance) is a brief notification that only contains the data required for the application for benefits (name, period of approval, date of birth, address, legal basis for receiving benefits).

Beneficiaries under SGB II must first apply for this in the team.arbeit.hamburg job center. For beneficiaries from other legal circles, they will be sent automatically.

You register the child in the school for lunch and submit the notification of approval or the certificate (confirmation of performance) to the school secretariat.

The benefits granted are valid for the entire approval period. If you no longer receive benefits, you must inform the school immediately.
