Detailed description
The Department of District Sports Facility Construction (M/BS) works as a construction service provider for all seven Hamburg districts in the area of public sports facilities. In close coordination with the district administration/policy, the services primarily include planning and engineering services for new construction projects, but also repair and building maintenance measures in structural engineering as well as gardening and landscaping. The sports facilities managed by the districts or M/BS include around 150 public sports fields, around 10 sports halls (including the Hamburg sports hall and the athletics training hall) and the Stellingen ice rink/cycle track.
In addition to the implementation of construction projects, M/BS's range of services also includes matters of urban development planning and the handling of property matters.
